Habits launch postponed

An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail. -Edwin Land

Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to finish Habits before the end of 2011. Me and the team at Appchance decided to take our time and publish the app when we think it’s good enough.

I don’t want to become Mr. Perfect again and spend months developing the app, but I was wrong when I thought that I would be able to design and develop it in three weeks, part-time. The plan was unrealistic.

Also, the plan to live blog the process of developing the app was overly ambitious.  I certainly don’t want to write articles just for the sake of writing articles and meeting some arbitrary criteria. It takes time to publish high quality content, and I know I can’t do it right now. I will post updates when I feel it’s appropriate.

It doesn’t feel great knowing that I was wrong, but I’d rather try and make all the mistakes now when few people are watching. People tend to get more conservative and risk averse once they get older and their businesses grow. I am happy to be able to take risks and try whatever I want right now. I don’t have much to lose and there’s a lot of freedom associated with it. I can only hope to retain as much of that freedom as possible as the years go by.

Over and out.
